3 July 2015 / Company presentation / Invitation / Video card
#1 – Yeah yeah, we wrote about it before: tell your story! No, the audience does not want a boring list of the benefits of a new product – yawn – or a report on annual figures. They do want to be entertained with juicy anecdotes, vivid stories and exciting adventures. Take them on a journey they will never forget and in return they will be good to your organization.
#2 – Be real. No, with the previous I didn’t mean that you should suddenly come up with all kinds of untruths to spice up your corporate video. People can see when you’re making up a story, so be smart and keep it real. Authenticity is the key word.
#3 – When making the video, don’t think about all the different people you want to reach with your video. Choose a specific target group and stick to it. That way you keep it clear for yourself.
#4 – Speaking of target audience.. Most organizations will want to reach their customers with their corporate video, which is very understandable. Customers can also tell your story, perhaps even better than you can. So: make sure that customers understand, appreciate and pass on your video message. Try to put yourself in their shoes and tailor your message to them.
#5 – Make sure your video message is timeless. A good story is not bound by time, but endures through the years. It is a story that is worth telling, year after year after year.
#6 – Provide emotion in your video. Video is an adequate way to express emotion, but use it! Please, leave out graphs and tables.
#7 – Ensure excellent quality. Not only should the video be of good quality, but the distribution of the video should also not leave much to be desired. Of course you can distribute your video online, but perhaps it is a little more personal to send the video to individuals. In addition to emailing your video to (potential) customers, you can also send your video by post. The PixioCard brings your video message to life in a unique way!
#8 – Keep it light and playful. By adding some humor here and there to your video message, it becomes a bit less heavy-handed. This way, customers see another side of your organization (the fun side!), which they will definitely appreciate.
#9 – Avoid monotony. Nobody likes to watch the same image for ten minutes with the same background music. Create multiple chapters, each with a different theme and sound. This originality will make viewers move their mouse (or hand, in the case of the PixioCard) to the play button again and again.
#10 – Find the heroes within your organization! The viewer likes to hear the story through employees, they know what they are talking about and offer a nice insight into the organization. When employees are given the chance, they will be more than happy to tell their story. All they need is the opportunity to do so.
Hopefully these ten tips have been useful to you and making a good corporate video will be a piece of cake! We would love to hear if you are as enthusiastic about the PixioCard as we are and if you have a would like to request a sample. The above story was about corporate video, but this is not the only application of the PixioCard. This original video card can also be used as, for example, video brochure, product presentation, or if video invitation for an event. The possibilities are endless!
